Why a hand-knotted rug holds its value

Made by hand, over months

Every rug here was knotted by hand, one knot at a time. A single rug is weeks or months of one weaver's work. A machine-made rug takes a few hours.

One of a kind

We never reorder. Each rug is bought once, in person, and when it sells it is gone for good. The rug you see is the rug you get.

Hanks of plant-dyed wool yarn

Wool that gets better with age

The pile is hand-spun sheep's wool, coloured with plant dyes such as madder and indigo. Wool springs back underfoot and the colours soften and deepen over the years. It is why good rugs are handed down rather than replaced.

From one rug to almost 25,000

Our family’s story began four generations ago, on the trading routes of the Middle East. The business itself began with one rug, bought for a home and never meant for sale. Today we ship hand-knotted rugs from Bangkok to customers around the world.
